How times fly! Not long ago, we were dreaming of coming to a key university, and now, here we are, in Hunan Normal University for nearly a year. Sometimes when we look back, we will find ourselves affected not by our parents, also by our teachers, which I take more seriously. Among them, Mr Wen, my Junior middle school headmaster has left indelible imprints on me.
Short as he is, Mr wen is strict with his students. He was hard-working and passionate about his work. There would always be a serious look on his face. He punished us very often, I just can’t find someone who wasn’t called into his room. At that time, many students thought he had controlled them too much. Besides study, Mr wen would check if we had done the cleaning everyday; and every night, just ten minutes before the bed-time, he would come our dormitory and ask us to sleep on time. If there was anyone whisper after bed-time, he would ask this guy to stay outside for some time, whenever it was Summer or Winter. He told us to make us to make friends with guys that were up-going. I had make friends with Junior 2 boy, who was very lively. But after some time, Mr wen found that I was wandering with this guy all day that my study was becoming bad, he called in the boy and after one hour’s talk, we gave up.
Strict as he was, when it comes to the class, things were different, he could always think up ways to make his class lively and interesting. With his direction, it seemed those signals of Maths became living things. In fact, we were the best class in our school as for Maths.
Mr Wen was kind to his students. He always emphasized that it was so important for us to keep fit. And he made us to run at least two cycles every morning. He also told us to improve our nutrient. As it was a village school, most of the students can’t afford a cup of milk a day, so Mr Wen asked them to carry eggs from home and he asked his wife to cook for them. So every morning, before the first class, there would be scores of students eating eggs besides the classroom.
Those days, I still was a silly guy, happy go lucky, and never thought what life would be the next day. It was Mr Wen who told me to fix up a aim and my own dream. He made me to realize my situation and that I need to work hard to chang it. From then on, I started to become a top student in our school. At that time, my health was a big problem to me, I had to see a doctor now and then. One time, I had a fever, when I told it to Mr Wen, and asked to have some hour’s off, he just put away his work and said:”come on , I’ll take you to the hospital and he did everything for me there, which really moved me. But to my astonishment, after some time, when he noticed I was ill again, he looked up medical books and after a busy job, he made a drug sheet and bought the medicine for me, I was really shocked.
In private, I heard from his wife that he would feel tired sometimes, and he thought about to retire. Yes, he must be very tired, he had done so much for his students!
Thank you Mr Wen, your students will never forget you!
